How to get ALL uploads to increment for a user?

I posted this in another are but got no response, so I guess I should have posted here instead?

I'm having some trouble figuring out how to get a user's post count to increment properly for all uploads.

I run a vBulletin and have the users post count is set to increase for every image they post to the gallery. ( Yes I do have "Photo uploads increment user post count?" set to "YES" ) If a user uploads an image it seems to increment just fine, but when I (the admin) upload an image as a user, their post count does not increment!

This is serious a problem, because I will be uploading and deleting posts for members from time to time, and their post counts wont increase if I upload for them, but they will have posts subtracted every time I delete an image for them.

Some of the members are WWII veterans, so I don't expect them to be tech savvy, but I do want photos they send me to be linked to their profile.

How do I can an accurate increment EVERY time an image is uploaded by or for a a user?

So is anyone going to respond here? It's a clear problem with the program, so maybe I should open a support ticket or report this as a bug?
