Notify Memebers of New File Uploads

Does anyone know if Photo Post VB Gallery currently offers a way to notify the members when a new file has been uploaded either by email or display?

My members dont check the gallery everyday and dont want to have to go looking for new content, and an email sent to them or a popup on the home page would be a nice feature to have it it currently is not available.

As a user you can subscribe per category for a e-mail update.

I had some hacks in mind to "spread the word"
- I was thinking of an add-on to post any new content uploaded as a new thread in forum of choice. (global option or by category)
- There could also be a Mass PM operation ran.

I personally dont like this idea. We have enough "Forums" on our site, thats just what we need "Another Forum".

Just an email notification or a popup box notifying I feel would be sufficient.

Yes you can subscribe as a user to each category in the gallery.
- "Category Tools" drop down in each category. ( thinking of a redesign on location )
