Setting a default Category to upload into

Could somebody please explain to me how on earth I set a default category for my members to upload to? I would think this would just be a setting somewhere in the admin panel, but I can't find anything...

Basically, when a user clicks "Upload" in the vBGallery menu and then under "Image Options", I want the "Please Choose a Category" drop down to say a specific forum.

Thanks

The link you can make would include the category ID.
gallery/upload.php?&c=8

This will auto select Category #8

Thanks for the quick reply Zach! Do I mod a template with this link? If not, where do I put this link? Sorry, but I'm not an expert with the vBulletin system yet.

I found this in ADV_GALLERY_UPLOAD:

Quote:
<select name="imageinfo[catid]">
<option value="0">$vbphrase[please_choose_a_category]</option>
$catoptions
</select>
Unfortunately, this doesn't do me much good because this is all dynamically generated content pulled from the database, so I can't tell which $catoptions to be selected

haha! There I go again, looking way too deep into things. I realize what you're talking about now Zach, thanks.

In the URL for Upload, I need to add the Category ID at the end of the URL. Brilliant!

Q: what do you want to change ? the default "Upload" link in the gallery navigation ?

adv_gallery_navbar
Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
Now from the gallery home this will not have a $catid. The category dropdown will allow the user to choose. When you are in a category looking @ images the link will auto change to the current category ID the user is viewing.

You can change $catid to a number and will will no longer be dynamic.
