vbGallery is important for Photopost?

I don't know if this has been a though year for this project, unfortunately from time to time I sense vbGallery isn't as important as Photopost.

Don't know, there seems to be several coders for Photopost, and I don't read anyone else but Zach in the vBG project.

Now, vbulletin is moving fast lately, they are making a lot of changes to the core product and templates, and it's important to notice that vbG isn't changing as fast as i'd think it would.

I'm not complaining, it's just that soon i'll have to renew, and I want to know where is my payment going, to Photopost as a whole or to this project, if so, hope Zach is making some money, or that you are planning to add more coders here.

Finally, if this project is important... why can't i renew online as photopost users do? Somehow I don't feel ok, it seems Photpost users are more important.

I'd love to read some of your thoughts... and where in the world do i renew?

myuption,

To renew your existing vBGallery license you can renew online using the normal ordering page. It's only new license purchases that are handled differently.

From viewing the actions of photopost over the last year, it is easy to assume they would like to phase out vbgallery and convert those users to photopost gallery. Otherwise, as mentioned above, you would see vbgallery available for purchase alongside their other products. There would be more support and newer features. VbGallery is not even listed as a product on the home page.

The lack of visibility of vbgallery is somewhat understandable. Photopost is a successful piece of software with many clients. Creating confusion by adding vbgallery to their order or home pages is not something the company wanted to do.

I am sure the idea is not new to the Photopost staff, but I will recommend it anyways. I think the best way to preserve vbgallery and help it grow would be to create a separate website for it. This would remove the unwanted confusion on the photopost website and help resurrect the vbgallery community. It is my opinion that vbgallery will eventually die out if something is not changed.

PhotoPost Pro has one primary developer (me) and that has worked well for us for 7 years or so. Zach is very active in coding for vBGallery and always looking into new ideas; I don't see adding programmers as a "need" at this point.

PhotoPost vBGallery is one of several products we offer; granted the similarities to the Pro version make marketing them side by side difficult, we've never tried to kill off the product in any way. We've continued to support the product, improved it and I see no reason why that wouldn't continue as vBulletin updates it's products.

Just as Brian worked on his products part-time, vBGallery is not a full time job for Zach. Monies are paid to support the products generally go for that purpose; but it's not a 1 for 1 kind of thing as there are more than development costs in running a company such as ours.

vbGallery is indeed on our ordering page. I explained in detail in your other post. I think our email to your could have went to your spam filter. This link should help also and it is the merged license post you want to read.
