Is there a way to embed video in the gallery?

I see that in Photopost you can embed some types of video. Is this possible in the Vb version?

Can someone answer this question? I uploaded video into my VBG today for the first time, only to find it NOT embeded and playing back in the browser, but presenting a file download/open option. I would hate that as the default...Just when my installation is getting busy.

My PP licences do this automatically. Could it be something we missed in the setting?

There is an inline player hack. I have seen that will play MP3, MID, MPG, SWF, WMA that KW802 came up with.

This hack will work on any version of vBgallery.

So the app has to be hacked before it can do something as basic as playing video in the browser? This is a total waste of money. Some of us don't like hacking our installs because it only screws up upgrades and I'm not going around crawling for help to use the next version. Even free apps can do that.

When are we going to see a real upgrade anyway?

And its incredible that a 2005 hack still works in the 2007 version. Shows no progression whatsoever in development. Not good. I wonder why you guys bought this app...

Not really, all it means is it goes nowhere near the core code and just adds functionality, blimey that was a bit harsh and way off the mark.

You obviously don't use the app. Moving on...

I have the add-on in the next build. I have not released it yet as I am still adding Hooks into the gallery files and a few other toys.

An updated version of the hack can be found here. The new version moves the templates from hard-coded code into the normal vB template system, uses a plug-in to eliminate the need for modifying the eCard template, includes a way of playing YouTube videos, FLV files, and a few other goodies.

No.

Zachariah has played around with the code and I think he is planning on a few hooks to allow hacks like that to work without code edits but he hasn't mentioned, to me at least, anything about incorporating the code into the actual vBGallery product.
