help! init.php file

When I edit my init.php file and upload it, I go to my site and it has an error,

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_IF in /home/lgpphoto/public_html/forum/includes/init.php on line 1

So I reuploaded my init.php file from my vbulletin files and the site is back up, the gallery shows it's running 2.1 and I've activated my show on forumhome but it doesn't work.

If I edit the init.php file, it will just give me the error again, not sure why or what is going on?

any help?

- Edit:
forums/includes/init.php

- Find:
Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
- Below Add:
Code:

- Upload this file to /forums/includes

Yes, Once I replaced the init.php file with the original from VBulletin the site went back to normal.

When I'm in my FTP program, I right click on the file, choose edit and it comes up in my FrontPage.

Or I use my HTML editor, HTMLd.
