| How to enable to show images on your FORUMHOME
"Enable to show images on your FORUMHOME" is checked and it still won't show my pictures on the main page.
I am not sure why not. This used to work.
Then I did the 3.6.3 update and my random pictures are gone from the main page.
This seems like a bug to me.
I even tried to use vbgallery installation again and update/restore templates, but it still doesn't work.
Can someone help?
Joe

After the upgrade you have to re-apply the change to your /includes/init.php file; that should take care of it for you.

Now you lost me. Why should update to vbulletin 3.6.3 confuse settings of vbgallery so much. I don't think this is very well designed. It should detect somehow that the settings are not correctly working, no?

When you did the vbulletin update, you replaced the file that had the needed edit for the gallery to operate fully.
- Edit:
forums/includes/init.php
- Find: Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
- Below Add: Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
- Upload this file to /forums/includes

Hi, thank you so much for your help. It worked like a charm. You can now close this topic as resolved.
Thanks once again.

Found my problem, here's a link to the answer for those that had issue when they upgraded their 3.5.x VB to 3.6.x and had to re-upgrade vbGallery 2.1
they renamed the SQL tables http://www.photopost.com/forum/showthread.php?t=127479 |

When I edit my init.php file and upload it, I go to my site and it has an error,
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_IF in /home/lgpphoto/public_html/forum/includes/init.php on line 1
So I reuploaded my init.php file from my vbulletin files and the site is back up, the gallery shows it's running 2.1 and I've activated my show on forumhome but it doesn't work.
If I edit the init.php file, it will just give me the error again, not sure why or what is going on?
any help?

I find this very badly designed. Why should I have to manually change my php files after every vbulletin upgrade?
And lately vbulletin is releasing a new upgrade like every other week. So this is quite annoying, as I have to always dig up this thread to find out once again how to go about fixing this issue.

I bumped the post
I'll prod them again. I did find some info on how to add the needed file edit in the forum's config.php file, that usaly does not get replaced on updates. I'll take a look .

I deleted a user from my forum, and vbgallery started creating errors everywhere his photos were. So I tried to remove them and then it jacked up my forum style. So I tried to uninstall vbgallery, and it brought the whole forum down with error after error after error.
So, I reinstalled the forum and just for the heck of it I tried to turn on the add-on and it now works, when it didn't before (kind of like what the users above are saying).
I tried going custom with a left sidebar on FORUMHOME and it doesn't work. If I put the string $vbgallery in the template FORUMHOME it works, but I have a template under FORUMHOME called forumhome_sidecolumn_left and the string doesn't work in there. Is there any more information that I can add into the forumhome_sidecolumn_left template that will allow it to use the $vbgallery string correctly?

Before you uninstall vbGallery you need to remove the file edit
"forums/includes/init.php" or it will error correct.
The reason your forumhome_sidecolumn_left does not work with $vbgallery is because the hack that shows the side collumn is ran before forumhome hook.
AdminCP => Plugins & Products => Plugin Manager
Product : PhotoPost vBGallery
- PhotoPost vBGallery Forumhome
-- Edit Plugin
Change Hook Location:
- global_start
This will now allow you to make the forumhome hack of the gallery show on the side bar.
If your sidebar is only on the forumhome and not all pages of the forum.
Edit "PhotoPost vBGallery Forumhome" plugin.
Replaced: Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
With: Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
