Image overwrite ... image loosed

During the last week-end in my gallery i've loose some images, and after a check i 've see this:

When a user UPLOAD a new image with the same name of a older image the older is overwrited.

eg.:

Old file 001-DSC_1001
New upload 001-DSC_1001

than if I check with the SCAN DATABASE menu there is a list of of broken images...and when i fix the images are "deleted"....

I've checked via FTP during the upload step and the images ARE create corrected ...

The problem may be that the program dont find the new images uploaded...

can someone help me?

- VB v3.5.6
- PhotoPost vBGallery v1.1 ( upgraded today.)

From the numbering of the images your php is in "safe mode" on your server.
- is your system in safe mode ?

The gallery "Change File Storage Method" OFF is designed for PHP safe_mode. This setting should be set before you add images to the gallery.

File Storage Method set to "ON" will move the images to a different location on the server and rename the image.

How many photos and comments are in your gallery ?
How many links to images do you have populating your forums showing off your images ?
