Show only "Main" Parent Category?

Group,

I am trying to get only the top level parent categories to show up but for some reason which ever category is "0" shows up and the sub categories are showing up underneath or out side of the parent category.

Would anyone have any idea what I might be doing wrong or have set wrong to cause this?

Thanks

Doug

Have you played with 'Depth of Categories' in the gallery ?

AdminCP = > vBa Gallery => Modify Settings => Categorybit Options

Depth of Categories
The depth of categories to show in the category listings. If you set this option to '2', the current category level and any child categories one level below that will be displayed.

I don't want the child catagories to show, only the top level should show.

Im trying to get this to basically work like ftp does with the folders, or the folders on a windows computer.

Set Depth of Categories to Zero or One - and see if you get the desired effect.

If i put it at "0" it hides all the catagories.

If i put it at "1" it shows the Parent catagory and the first child under it.

If i put it at "2" it shows the Parent catagory and the first and second child under it.

The only catagory i want to see on the main page or index page (what ever its called) are the main parent catagories.

I figured it out.

I needed to set both "Depth of Categories on Index" and "Depth of Categories"

to a number one.

That gave me the desired effect I was looking for.

Thanks for helping point me in the right direction Zachariah.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Doug
