| Moderator access to Validate photos?
I have a couple usergroups set up for moderator approval before their photos go live. In Photopost, the Moderator group used to be able to approve these photos, however, I have a Moderator that cannot see the Mod link that is supposed to show up in the footer. Why is this? I can see the link. Why would a Moderator not have access to this link or the validation tool?

Ludachris, is in this regards to PhotoPost Pro or PhotoPost vBGallery?
If in regards to vBG check your vBG usergroup permissions to make sure that your moderator groups have permissions to moderate new images.

Exactly where is that setting? I can't find it in the Usergroup settings. There is only options to "Moderate this groups images and posts". I don't see any setting that gives the group the permission to moderate images. There are options to delete and edit other images, and those are checked. But that doesn't do anything for validating images.
Again, just to reiterate, I want my moderators to be able to Validate New Images. How can I do that?

In the "readme_vga_gallery.html" file that comes inside of the zip package scroll to step "Step 2 - Optional File Modifications" and follow the instructions for the ModCP.

So I followed the instructions and my moderators are still not able to see the top navbar "Moderate New" link and the "Mod" link in the footer. Now what do I try?

Gallery has nothing to do with if the "Mod" option is turned on in the footer. Gallery uses your vBulletin footer so if the user would normally see the Mod link outside of the gallery then they would see it inside of the gallery as well.
Do you moderators see the Mod option in the footer in the forums?

I'm guessing they only see the Mod option for forums they have permission to Moderate, right? Well, how are they given permission to Moderate the Gallery? Maybe we're trying to fix the wrong thing here... I just want my moderators to be able to Validate New Images. How can I do that? I don't care if they see the Mod link. How can I get them access to validate new images?

Ludachris,
If your moderators were added to the moderator group and if you're style was coded properly then they should be seeing the "Mod" option in the footer template.
Even if they don't see they "Mod" option in the footer then if you followed the steps in the installation readme file then they'll see the Gallery options when they go to www.yoursite.com/forums/modcp.

My moderators are in the Moderator group. I'm not sure what you mean by whether or not the style was coded properly...

How can I get the Moderators to be able to see the "Moderate New" link in the top navbar? That is the direct link to validate new images - that's what I want them to be able to use.

We can't forget it because if your moderators are not being properly flagged to show up as a moderator in the vBulletin set of variables then that option will not appear to them.

So, the user is a moderator of one forum - he is added to the forum. Yet, he says he cannot see the ModCP link. This is probably because it's still commented out in the global.php file in the vB installation. Does that mean that none of the moderators can moderate gallery?
What does this <IF> conditional check for?
<if condition="$show['modoptions']">
Does "modoptions" include being a moderator of a forum? If so, my moderators should be able to see the Moderate New link in the gallery navbar.

Ludachris,
If you go into vBa Gallery => Edit Categories do you have moderators specified for any of your categories? I had a chance to go through the code tonight and that option in the Gallery navbar will appear if the user either has admin' access or (and this is the important part) the user is listed as a moderator in vBG. Now you'll see the link all of the time since you're an admin but for your one-off moderators you'll want go into Edit Categories and add them to the categories they should have access to.
If you still have problems then I can take a look at your settings if you'd like.

Kevin, that seemed to do it. I didn't know that you had to specifiy moderators for the gallery - I thought that existing moderators of the forums would be able to moderate the gallery automatically. It might be easier if there was an option to import all moderators for all gallery categories.
Anyway, thanks for the help.
