| True User Galleries?
Does PhotoPost vBGallery support user galleries? I have been playing with catagories and all of that but what I want to do is to have users create their own gallery with sub-cats. So far it's been a little confusing. This is what I mean.
-Members Galleries-
So and so's Gallery
Such and such Cat
Pics
Such and such cat
Pics
I see that when they upload to a catagory then their "gallery" is created by their name but just allows a bunch of pictures with no organization of photos or am I just not doing it right |

Hello I beleive what your looking for is albums and no vbGallery does not have personal albums feature. it has a member's gallery where it can group members pics just like PhotoPost but lacks the true albums feature that our PhotoPost Pro package has.

Admin CP options:
Category Options - per Cat created. Act as Members' Category- [ ] yes [ ] no
When set to 'Yes', any uploads to this category will automatically be placed in a sub-category named after the user who uploaded the file. Allow Users to Create Sub-Categories - [ ] yes [ ] no
I have not tested all the options.

He is talking about true galleries which is USER ALBUMS which only photopost has.
EDIT
Yeah a user can create albums under the members gallery from what your saying. However they can not assign them to anything other than a category that acts as a members gallery from what I see

Yes, vBGallery supports this. If you enable the two options listed above, any sub-cats (albums) that users create under their member gallery will show up under their username.
I have many levels deep under mine: http://www.fireblades.org/gallery/br...c=500&userid=1 |

I want the parent cat to be the user's name. I could do it all via AdminCP for every user but that would be a Admin nightmare!

All you do is set two options listed above to YES. Quote: |

I have not tested all the options. |
Then check the usergroup permissions to make sure you allow them to create categories.
When they create a category, they'll choose the Members Gallery as the parent, and the new sub-cat they create will show up under their member gallery, under their name.

If they upload directly to a category that is set as a Members Gallery, it will show their images in a category called their username. No category creation is needed. However, those can't be limited from view.
If they create a category, they can choose if that category is private or not.

I want to allow my members to upload their files to a specific cat or folder, but I dont want them having their own personal folder or album.
Is it possible to do this? If so could someone explain to me how to go about doing this?
Thanks
Doug
