Saving images to a different drive/directory

Hi,

How do I save images to a different directory/drive of my choice?
I asked this question before buying VBAG in this thread and Brian said it was possible by changing a setting, so now I'm asking "which one"?

If I change the "Files Path" and "Files URL" in the ACP to whatever I want can I then just move the files over manually?

And finally, when you say "above the document root" you actually mean "www/something" just like it is today "www/gallery/files", correct? (That sounds to me more like "below" than "above" but hey whatever ).

Thanks,

What that means is that if you're forums directory is "/home/dennis/public_html/forums" then '/home/dennis/public_html' is your document root directory and is the same as http://www.yoursite.com but by changing the paths you can use a folder like "/home/dennis/gallery" instead.
That way your gallery files are above your public_html directory so they can't be accessed by remote linking (or somebody trying to guess the image path) but they can still be used by the Gallery software.
