my question is, how do i bring over the images in the gallery to the fresh install? is this going to be a problem? is there a import script also for this?

Backup your adv_setting, adv_settinggroup, and all adv_gallery_* tables. Then install vBulletin and import your old data, install the gallery, then restore the backup of your gallery tables.
