Gallery Access/Management Paid Usergroups

Hi there, not sure where to post this as it's not really an issue but just a request for some advice.

I have a paid usergroup that will have access to the gallery which appears to be easy to configure.

My only concerns are that I use a payment/subscription manager and not the built in Vbulletin one. It manages my paid usergroup as monthly and yearly subscriptions.

If someone only joins for one month and cancels then the payment processor moves them from the paid usergroup to the free usergroup without gallery access.

I just wondered will their uploaded images still exist and would I have to manage them separately?

I was thinking the only way around this for ease of managment is to only give gallery access to yearly accounts but I assume I would still have to manage the resources of the gallery manually?

thanks for any thoughts/advice you may have or the way you run a similar paid gallery service!!

Yes, their uploaded images would still exist. Are you just trying to delete any images uploaded by a user once their subscription is expired?

Re: Gallery Access/Management Paid Usergroups

Hi Brian, I appreciate the reply.

My concerns were keeping up with images that needed to be deleted for members that no longer subscribed as they would really build up and use my webspace resources.

My forum is large and approaching 17'000 members. My gallery when launched will be for paid members but a lot of them are on monthly plans which they can cancell at any time.

Loads could cancell in any one month and I would have loads of image pruning to suss out.

I was hoping for an easier option or suggestion. The monthly subscription is very popular.

thanks for reading

I don't really have anything to test this with, so I accept no responsibility if it doesn't work. You can try adding this plugin through your Plugin Manager and it should delete all images uploaded by a user from the database when their subscription expires. It won't remove the images, but you could then use the 'Scan Database' maintenance tool to take care of those every few days/weeks/months/whatever.
