vbaGallery 1.0.1, vB3.5, CMPS 2.0 - Random images on CMPS homepage

I've spent the past day or two ripping my site to bits and trying to piece it back together again just to get vbaGallery 1.0 random images on my CMPS 2.0 homepage with vBulletin 3.5

The other threads on this topic consist of a variety of other combinations of version numbers that have been hacked and re-hacked, and they're getting mixed results.

Could we add a simple, from the top, no reference to other threads etc, guide on how to add random images to the CMPS 2.0 homepage using vbaGallery 1.0 and vb3.5.
