Question Copyright Notice

I am trying to get the ADV_GALLERY_SHOWIMAGE template to show a copyright notice just below the users name, but I'm having a little trouble...

One would think you could just walk in and add <br> © 2005, but it's not that simple. Because next year when you change your template to read 2006, you're lying. Those images are copyright to the artist the year he uploaded it.

So then I sought to add <br> © $image[dateadded] , but that shows the entire date instead of the year. And that's where I'm stuck at now, if anyone would like to help.

Re: Copyright Notice

Brinnie, it should be easy enough to add a new variable to the PHP file to output just a date; bump this thread for me later so I see it again when I get home (assuming that nobody else comes forward in the meantime).

Re: Copyright Notice

In showimage.php, look for:

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
Below that, add:
Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
That should then give you the year if you use $image['yearadded'] in your template.

(Didn't test it, but it should work.)

Re: Copyright Notice

Actually, the image is copywright to the artist in the year it was created. If I created a work in 1995 and upload it to [a] site in 2005, then the copywright it misleading. Why not just leave the "c"? Guess its your call.

edit:

Why not add something at the bottom at the page that says something like:
Images copywright the artist 2005 - 2006. THe year the site was started and then the current year. You can even make that a phrase.
