How To Move Servers

Could someone please advise the easiest way to move servers.

Old server was running VB3.5 with latest gallery upgrade.

New server now running VB3.5, yet to attempt an install of gallery at all.

many thanks,
Mike

Re: How To Move Servers

If you have cPanel then there should be an option to move everything there. If not, just download everything in your gallery/files folder, then upload your gallery folder to the new server. Also be sure to change your forum path in the gallery_config.php file, and chmod your gallery/files and ALL sub-directories to 777.

Easiest way to move servers is to toss me some cash and have me do it

Otherwise, you backup your ALL your files, and you dump your mysql database.

Then you restore your backed up files and your backed up database, no reason to install vBulletin 3.5 again or vBa again, thats what a mysql backup is for.

Thanks for the advice

I've already restoed the database, so do I just upload the files and that's it. Do I not need to run the install script at all, not even the templates? Or should they still be there?
