Manually adding photos?

When we switched from our old forum software all of our photos on the website were just hosted in a folder. I still have them all and would like to create a general photo category with all of these photos in it, however I am not too thrilled with the idea of uploading them 3 at a time through the interface. Is there an easy way to populate them to the Gallery database and have them show up in the general category I create?

You can ask admin use the bulkupload interface and hit skip upload files in your upload directory and input the server path to the directory that has the images. These options are under admin bulk options on the uploads page.

Thank you for the reply. I am not familiar with that feature. I am still running Gallery 1.0 (I believe). Is that in the VBulltein Admin > Gallery options or just in Gallery on the upload page?

If it is a newer feature, might be time for an upgrade, methinks.

Right on the uploads page

Upload From Server
Upload files directly from the server
Files should be in: /var/www/omegatron/gallery/users/1

Chuck,

Thank you very much. Found the "Can upload images directly from server" option clicked to "No" in the Admin panel for Gallery. Once set to "Yes" I found the option you were describing and it worked perfectly.

Saved me hours of anguish Chuck!

Thank you again.
