Changing copyright

How do i change the footer copyright.

theMusicMan November 22nd, 2005 03:00 AM

Hi

You need to amend the phrase called "powered_by_vbadvanced_gallery" to whatever you now need to show.

This is what i am refering to,there is nothing in the instruction to tell you what to run.

NextGen the best way to change it is to download vb gallery from here then upload the vbagallery_install.php script into the admincp folder. Once done run the script and select Reinstall the phrases once done delete this file and you should be all done.

I don't really think there is a need to upload any of the other files since they are all the same as they were before.

Hope this helps

My forum is Norwegian, how does that affect my translation of the phrases? Will they be removed and overwriten?

I'm not 100% sure, but no - I don't think so as long as your phrases are effectively translated instead of updating the phrase text itself..

I'd definately recommend backing up beforehand, just in case.

weirdpixels November 22nd, 2005 03:54 AM

I maybe wrong but I would guess that this would replace all of the English phrases. So if you are using a Norwegian phrase for the powered_by_vbadvanced_gallery phrase it would probably not be replace. If you are you will probably need to do what theMusicMan suggested.

Though I could be wrong as I have never really dealt with multiple phases.
Maybe someone else will know what happens.

Can I change the copyright notice manually because I have hacked the source code of my gallery and I dont want to over right any files.

Oblivion Knight November 22nd, 2005 04:55 AM

Search your phrase variables for powered_by.

The copyright notice for the Gallery should appear, just proceed to edit it from there.. It's all that I did anyway. :)

KBV November 22nd, 2005 06:56 AM

Does anyone know what exactly is changed between the two versions (PhotoPost and vB Gallery)? If it's only the Copyright notice I won't bother, I'll just update it manually.

Scribbller November 22nd, 2005 08:51 AM

As much as I am peeved by the actions of PhotoPost in an effort to monopolise the market I am still going to support the product and will change my copyright text, if only someone from staff can answer my question.

Yes, you can change it manually.

No, nothing else has changed in the product since we added it here.

PhoenixDown21 November 22nd, 2005 10:00 AM

What does the new powered by phrase need to say at the minimum? I am going to update it manually and I dont think I've seen that listed here.

Code:

Content visible to verified customers only.
This would be fine.

What is the point in that.

I want support and since photopost are the new owners then i will change my copyright.

pennylessz28 November 25th, 2005 10:25 PM

I changed my copyright, how do I get my one year free?

trackpads November 26th, 2005 07:12 AM

Should automatically be updated in your 'License Info / Downloads'. If it wasnt send an email to sales@photopost.com and they will take care of it for you and make sure you get the extra year.
