"direct link" problem

The problem I have is that the "direct link code" only mentions the resized image URL not the URL of the original image. So users will not know how to access the original image (the URL listed when you click the resized image to see the original image is some PHP URL). I only use the resize thing because anything bigger than 800 px width messes up my template. So how can I get the direct link code to display the URL of the original image instead? Thanks!

Re: "direct link" problem

When you view the original image, the direct link should be to it. When you view the "normal" image, the direct link will point to that.

Re: "direct link" problem

Sorry but for the original image it only displays a PHP link. Which isn't really a direct link since it doesnt work in image code or anything. And I'm using open new window for original image since it changes the template otherwise (but the same PHP link is displayed anyway so doesnt matter).

the URL for the original image is http://www.domain.com/forum/gallery/...=10&original=1

the resize one is something like http://www.domain.com/forum/gallery/.../img_00001.JPG

How can I get it to display http://www.domain.com/forum/gallery/...1_original.JPG instead of the PHP URL Thanks

Re: "direct link" problem

(But, Brian should be able to provide the code to make it display that way... Wait for a response from him.)

Re: "direct link" problem

Admin CP => vBulletin Options => Message Posting and Editing Options => Allow Dynamic URL for [IMG] Tags

If you have that option turned on then you should be able to use the link that's provided in the gallery.

Re: "direct link" problem

Okay thanks "This can prevent malicious use of the [IMG] tag." Is that something to worry about or just some outdated thing?

And I guess this is the easy solution right :P Is the other solution for displaying the actual URL in that box or browser harder?

Re: "direct link" problem

Brian I tried what you said and im still having the same problem. The thumnailed picture shows the direct link but the original doesnt. This really should be an option instead of just making it mandatory to not display the direct link for the original images.
