Import script
 

Hi Brian I would like to know something that I am sure a few others may wish to know.

I am not upgrading to 3.5 until it goes gold, after years of mods/hacks and file changes I am going to do this upgrade by running a clean vb3.5 in a separate dir to vb3.07 and impex the data across creating a nice clean database/file structure install of 3.5, at that stage I will then install a clean latest version cmps and gallery over it, now the main question I have will you have an import script to import the pics from my 3.07 install across to my 3.5 install of gallery?

I am sure I will not be alone in this way of upgrading as it will be a great opportunity to clean up years of hacking and be ready for the nice new modular hacks we will see coming our way and an import script for the gallery will be the only setback in us doing this.

There's really no reason to create an import script. Just copy over your adv_gallery_x tables and that should be it.

If thats the extent of it I agree, I was just not sure how different the database was going to be.

There are no changes to the database other than templates, phrases, and settings, but those are in different tables.
