Member Category Depth

Hello,

I have a depth of 2 set for my gallery index. I have one category setup as a members category, and a few other normal categories. When viewing the gallery index, the separate member galleries do not show up (good thing), but their sub-folders do. Is there an easy way to change this? Maybe by checking for a specific category id when displaying the gallery index? Any suggestion on where the changes should be made?

Thanks

Re: Member Category Depth

See if this option will do what you need:

Show Sub-Categories
This option will allow you to display links to a category's sub-categories in the category listings.

Re: Member Category Depth

Try looking in your gallery/index.php file for this code:
Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
Replace with this:
Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
And that should do the trick.

Re: Member Category Depth

Wow, thanks for the quick replies!

Brian,
The code did not seem to work. I would post a link, but I am using a different category layout until I can fix this. Are the sub-categories within a particular member's gallery considered a member category? I think that might be the problem.

I will try to give a better example below; sorry about the mess.

I have a member gallery under the name of Grae:
Grae
___Family (my family pics)
___Pets (pics of my pets)

My gallery index is showing this:
Member Galleries
___Family
___Pets
Contest Gallery
___July '05

I would like it to show this:
Member Galleries
Contest Gallery
___July '05

That's what I get for being in a hurry. I just updated the post above and it should include the correct changes this time.

Re: Member Category Depth

I am still having the same problem, but really appreciate the help.
One idea that might fix this, would be to count a member's folder within a member category as part of the depth count. The family and pets folders below automatically have a depth level of 2, where as imo they should have a depth level of 3.

Gallery Structure:
Member Galleries
___Grae
______Family
______Pets
___Sarah
______Friends
Contest Gallery
___July 2005

Current Display (depth=2):
Member Galleries
___Family
___Pets
___Friends
Contest Gallery
___July 2005

Desired Display (depth=2):
Member Galleries
Contest Gallery
___ July 2005

Re: Member Category Depth

I was able to get the affect I wanted by doing the following in the gallery index.php file:

find
Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
add this below it
Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
Foresee any problem with doing it this way? Thanks for your help.

As long as you get the output you're looking for then I don't see any problems with that method.

Thumbs up Re: Member Category Depth

Yes I used the exact code you posted, even after you updated it.
Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
Thanks again

Re: Member Category Depth

Weird... Not sure why it wasn't working for you, but I guess the important part is that you were able to get the result you were looking for.
