Category Image From Sub-Folder

A couple questions on creating category images within a members category.

Is it possible for a user to use an image within a sub-folder as a category image. I allow each member to create subfolders withing their personal gallery. Lets say 'Bob' has a member gallery and he has created some subfolders, one of which is 'friends'. Is it possible for bob to use an image from his 'friends' subfolder as his main category image (folder Bob)? A duplicate image could be moved from 'friends' to 'Bob', but I would rather not do that.

Another question on the same subject. Is it possible to use a member's avatar as their main category image? The most recently uploaded or random image from subfolders would be nice too.

I could be wrong, but I don't think these things are doable without a little hacking. I am still unfamiliar with the code, so any pointers would be appreciated

While your users would be able to set a category image for the sub-categories, they would not be able to select one for their member category, nor is there an option to have it show their avatar. If you're familiar with PHP though it probably wouldn't be *that* hard to write a hack to add their avatar with their categories.
