Right now there is not an option for this. You could manually edit the entries in the database and add the filename for the screenshot in the 'thumbname' column.

Re: Thumb nails for videos

You would need to go into your adv_gallery_images table in your database, locate that specific video, add the name of the file you want to use for the thumbnail in the 'thumbname' column, and then make sure to upload that file to the same directory that the video is stored in.

I did this and it is still showing the default thumbnail for a WMV file. I double checked the filename and location. I also changed the post count manually in the DB to make sure it was updating and the gallery showed that change, but not the thumbnail. Any reason why this would not work in 1.0.1? Am I missing something?

Thanks,
Brian

Try looking in your forum/includes/functions_gallery.php file for this code:
Code:

Replace with this:

Question Re: Thumb nails for videos

Ok, I tried the above modifications...and the results were...
The WMV file is still using the default thumbnail and now the images (jpgs) are also using the default JPG thumbnail as opposed to the one that was generated during upload...see attachment
Attached Images
File Type: jpg thumnails.jpg (18.9 KB, 24 views)

That's what I get for posting code before I've had my daily dose of caffeine. I just modified the post above with the correct change though.

Re: Thumb nails for videos

Thanks for your help Brian, your're almost there. I applied the new code and the results are...the "new" video thumbnail is now showing correctly as well as regular image thumbnails. However, when I click on the video thumbnail, there is no image of any type to click on to play the video, nor is it showing a broken link. All of the other information is displayed.

Thanks,
Brian

Re: Thumb nails for videos

Any ideas why the thumbnail is not showing...only the alt text, on the showimage.php page (where you click download the video)?
