A couple Resizing questions

2 Quick Questions:

1) In vBag -> Modify Settings -> Categorybit Options -> Maximum Width/Height of Category Images:

What do I enter in that text-box, something like "800x600" or 800/600, etc.?

2) Is there a way to resize images down to a certain file size? Say I have a limit of 100K on the file size and someone wants to upload a file of 120K. Can the software automaticaly resize the file to 100K yet keep the same aspect ratio?

Re: A couple Resizing questions

New-Guy,

1) It is a combined max height/width dimension while keeping the thumbnail ratios. For example, if you enter 150 then when the category image is displayed the maximum height it can be is 150 and the maximum width it can be is 150 while keeping the aspect ration. BTW: That field is for the thumbnail that is shown to the left of the categor name when browsing the gallery home page, not the images in the category itself, so you wouldn't want 800x600 or anything else that big in that spot.

2) No.

Re: A couple Resizing questions

KW802, thank you for the quick response and for clarifying Q1 for me.

Regarding Q2, is that is a limitation of GD/ImageMagik or could vBag be modifed to do what I'm looking for? If it is possible, I'd be willing to pay for the modifications.

Anything is possible, but something like that would require a decent amount of work.
