Adding new links in the nav bar?

Im sure this has been asked a million times ,but I cannot find detailed instructions on this.

I just installed VBadvanced photo gallery and I would like to link the nav bars to each other so that way when your in the forums there will be a "gallery" link or what every you want to name it in the nav bar at the top of the forums.

And when your in the photo gallery there will be a "forums" link in the nav bar at the top of the photo gallery.

Can anyone help me with the details of how to do this?

I dont beleive thats what im looking for too much information, confusing, its a lot more information than what I need.

I just want to put a link in my nav bar to my photo gallery when in my message board, and then a link in the nav bar of my photo gallery for my message board when in the photo gallery.
