Private Gallery Category

Perhaps this has already been answered but I didn't see anything pertaining to our situation. We have a hidden forum with adult only access that is given on a user by user basis. We would like to have something similar in the gallery where they can host the images used for the hidden forum. We don't want it to show on the gallery homepage unless the user has access to the category and forum. Is there a way to do this?

Admin CP => vBa Gallery => Category Permissions

Choose the category on that page and set the permissions just as you would with your forum permissions.

That works for usergroups, but is there a way to set the permissions by individual user?
