thumbnail pictures for new file types

Im sure this has been answered somewhere but I cant find it for the life of me.

Ok ive added zip and rar file types to my gallery and I can upload them fine but when i upload there is no image assosiated with the filetype for thumbnails and whatnot. Where do i go to assign a new image for a new filetype? hope this makes sense

In the images folder under gallery. You'll see all the others in there. file_x.gif

I want to be able to specify different images for the different types of files so I am more looking for an area of code to edit to add this in. thanks for the quick reply though

That is what he told you. Just and the image you want in the folder he specified and name it accordingly and you are all set.

Unless I am missing something?

Re: thumbnail pictures for new file types

I have the same issue ... I added the new file type icon and gave it a similiar CHMOD, but the new thumb is still showing up as "permission denied" ... i.e. it's a broken image. I added the same filetype to the CP too.

Sarah, the extension is the important part. You need a file named "file_mps.gif" in your "/forums/gallery/images" folder.

Re: thumbnail pictures for new file types

Sarah, looks like the problem isn't with that file but with the folder itself... I can't view *any* of the images in the /gallery/images folder. Check the 'chmod' permissions of the /images folder to make sure that the public can see the files. If you're convinced that everything looks OK you can submit a Support Ticket and I'll take a look.

On a different note.... nice modification to the Gallery home template. I like that side bar in there like that.

I'm the Philly 'burbs so that'd be one heck of a long drive. The closest I'll be getting to the CA & AZ areas anytime soon is when I'll be flying over them in a few months.

Ticket coming your way.

Thanks for the compliments! That is a long drive, but the Jeepin' is worth it.
