Watermark and Hotlink

Ok, here's the question. I am interested in watermarking images with a small website logo however I only want this to appear on hotlinked images, not images hosted in the gallery that are used throughout my domain. Is this a vbgallery function or strictly a .htaccess function?

Automated watermarking requires PHP code and a graphics manipulation library (GD or IM).

If you want to watermark images you use on your site, your best bet would just be to do it manually using PhotoShop or the like.

Gotcha there, I was just wondering if there might be a way through .htaccess to add a watermark overlay to images being hotlinked. I'm not too keen on all images being uploaded to the gallery having a watermark when the images are viewed through the gallery...

You can't do that with .htaccess....

Most people do it in case the images are saved off from your gallery and sent up to other sites. Like a free ad. :)

Yeah I think I might just go ahead and add the watermark to all images. It's real small and shouldn't take away much from the image itself.

I can do it through my website cpanel. If you use cpanel on your host server I am sure you have it there as well.

Not going to get those kind of features with Plesk. :(
