Make Category Image smaller?

I think the category image(s) are way to large is there anyway the gallery could be told to make it lets say, half the size of the default thumbnail size? Or allow us to enter an option in pixels for the category images... ?

Sanjiyan,

You can use any image of any size you want for the category image. To manually change them go... ACP --> vBa Gallery --> Edit Categories --> {select your category} Edit Category --> Imageand then specify the image to use.

Or change your categorybit_level1 template:

Content visible to verified customers only.

In the example above I forced each one to 100 pixels wide. Use either a height or width (if you use both you may get distored images).

Only problem with that method, though, is that you end up using images that are larger in size than need be.

The "need be" was to have smaller images (Heh heh). As I understand it, these images are being pulled from thumbnails, not full-size images. The additional download time and size should not be onerous, but depends on admin settings.

This method requires far less work from the webmaster. At the current price of bandwidth, well worth it.

Further, I'd surface the "make category thumb" link for the user, and let them select or change as they please. More fun for them.

Choices. Everything is a trade-off.
