Automatic member sub categories?

Here is what I would like to have happen:
Supporting members of our website are allowed 20 meg of web space in the Gallery. They automatically have a sub category created when they post in the main category (there is only one category). They are allowed to create folders in their respective sub-category to help organize their files.

Here is what I have done:
I setup the main category as a member directory (selected "yes") with the ability for users to post images and create sub categories. I only allow my supporter group to post pictures - all other groups (aside from admin and mod) can only view.

Here is what I have questions on:
First, how does the gallery software create the sub category? It creates it when I am browsing, but I do not see the sub category in the admin panel.

Second, I do not see how a member can create sub categories in an automatically created member directory.

Third, when I am in the automatic member sub category I have no option to use one of my pictures as an icon for that sub category; I only have the option to use one of the images as an icon for the main category.

I am wondering if I have to manually create a category or sub category for each user in order to give them the control I am looking for.

Any tips or information how others have setup a similar gallery is greatly appreciated!!

PS - Side question: anyone know of a spell checker that can integrate with the forums?

Regards,
Chael

Re: Automatic member sub categories?

The "User Name Categories" are created on-the-fly, as display only, so they won't show in your Admin control panel. Just create a category, define it as a Members Gallery, and allow users to create sub-categories of that one. When they go to create a sub-category (under the My Stuff menu), they will only be able to create sub-categories under that one, if that's the only one they have permissions to create under.

Users aren't currently able to add a category icon, but I think Brian may be adding that for the next release.
