| Move Pics from 1 category to another
One of my members has uploaded a bunch of pictures to a main category. I created a sub-category for all of his pictures, but I am unable to figure out how to move the pictures from the main category, into the sub-cat. Any ideas on how this can be done?

If you Edit the picture, you can change the category.

For a mass moving try ACP --> vBa Gallery --> Edit Categories --> {choose the category he uploaded them into} Mass Edit / Delete {you can find the option in the drop down list}. From there you can then bulk move the images to the new category.

Despite being logged in as Admin, I am unable to edit individual pictures, however, doing the mass edit trick did work. I guess I must fiddle with the permissions to be able to edit an individual picture despite being the admin.

I'm trying to understand how to do a mass upload into a particular category. I'm the admin, and just ftp'd over about 10 pics into the /gallyer/files/1 folder. I'm trying to move them to a category called parties, but can't seem to get them to show up.
Could someone possibly tell me how to do that? I'm trying to do a mass move, but there not being moved from other folder, so I'm a little confused.

They should be in your /gallery/users folder. You also need to make sure you've set your 'FTP User Folder Path' option and that you have your 'Can upload from server' permission setting set to 'Yes'.
The mass move option has nothing to do with the mass upload feature. It allows you to mass move images from one category to the other, not one folder to the other.

Thanks for the help Brian,
I think, but I'm not quite certain I understand what you said. I checked and changed the admin's permissions so that he upload images directly from the server. And the ftp folder path is the users path as well.
So I upload via ftp a bunch of images into the users folder path. But how do I get those images to show in the category I want?

Just to be sure since I may have not been very clear in my initial response, did you read this part of the readme file? Quote:
FTP & Bulk Uploads:
If you plan to allow some of your users to upload files via FTP, you will first need to make sure that your 'FTP User Folder Path' setting (listed under the 'Modify Settings' link under your 'vBa Gallery' options in your Admin CP) is set to the full path to your '/gallery/users' folder.
You will then need to create a new folder under your '/gallery/users' directory and name it according to that user's userid (so if the user's userid was 5, you would simple create a new folder called 5 under your '/gallery/users' directory.
Lastly, you will need to create a new FTP account on your server for that user and make sure they have access to the newly created folder to upload their files to.
| Once you have done that and uploaded the files into the proper folder, you just go to upload an image as you would normally, but instead of selecting an image to upload you just check the box near the bottom that says "Upload images directly from the server".
