Sos! Need Help Ftp And Upload Problems

Hey, currently upgrading my photo gallery and website www.bahamascope.net

Hey whats up. I recently upgraded my database by getting rid of that crappy phpnuke, and purchasing VBulletin which is 100 times better.

I also purchased the photogallery add-on here and I am moving my photos from the old phpnuke database into vbgallery. However the location of the files, or links are all being moved into one folder including the thumbnails.

www.bahamascope.net/gallery/files/1

Do you think that its wise or would it increase server load if all the files are kept in one folder rather than have them separated in separate locations like they were stored before? i.e.

/events/junkanoo/*.*

/Christmas/downtownparty/*.*

As opposed to having everything placed in www.bahamascope.net/gallery/files/1

I messed around with the ftp settings but couldn't find a solution. Since I purchased the script from you guys, can you help?

Here is an upload sample of how i am linking my info...

Re: Sos! Need Help Ftp And Upload Problems

Also, what is happening if I try to change the two top links (FTP), because all of my photos are using the links, none of the photos would link properly (displaying the red x).

So it looks like the only way around that is to upload everything into one folder

I hope its not confusing what I am saying...

Everything is not uploaded to one folder. It's uploaded to a folder string depending on what your userid is. If it's 1, then the files will be uploaded to gallery/files/1. If it's 573, then they'll be uploaded to gallery/files/573. And no, it will not create a problem if you have a large number of images in a single folder.

Wow incredible, each member has a unique id number, and it uploads that identical folder that corresponds with the members .

Thanks Brian for the quick response, I had a few members upload some test stuff and i see what you are saying now. Thanks for the quick response, that took that headache away lol...

Good job, and keep up the good work
