| 4 images Gallery
I saw importer for Coppermine and Photopost. Is there any importer for 4 images Gallery ?
I have a lot of pictures in my 4 images gallery and I want to import them. If there is no importer is there any other way for me to add all these images ?

If your images have comments, ratings, description, categories, etc, I would highly recommend importing, even if it takes some time for someone to offer an import script.
Can't speak for Brian, but I believe he would make that importer being 4images such a popular script. But being Brian such a busy guy, that might take a while, so you should wait for his answer.
On the other hand, if you don't have nothing like that, you could just upload all photos by ftp and bulk post them.

All the photos are already in Ftp. But my main concern is :
I have different categories in both of them. And as you know 4images they store the file in "gallery/data/media/catid" and which folder do I have to carry all the photos in vbagallery. And how can I add them will it be throug validate new images or do I have to carry a different way ?

I was looking at your 4images installation and saw you have more users beside yourself.
What do you plan on doing with their images? Upload them all in your name?

Want some personal advice? Don't do it now.
Wait at least a week, because RC3 will be released in the next couple of days (if the world doesn't end in the meanwhile), and you'll have a lot of extra work doing it now to upgrade to RC3 later.
After the release, there will be a couple of busy days ironing out some renegade bugs, so around the middle of next week, things might cool down and Brian will eventually take this matter into his hands and tell you if he has already an importer or if he can work on one.

A week is not that long. I bet they prefer to wait a week than the mess it's going to be if you import by hand.
But anyway, if you are decided to go ahead with it, I'll give some pointers on the best way to do it. But not today, I'm off to bed! =)

I think I found a possible bug. I am using a linux machine for my server. When I was using 4images gallery I had files like pic0015.jpg and PIC0015.jpg and this caused no problem. But when I uploaded the images from ftp directly to vbagallery this caused me a problem. Some files donot have thumbnails and I cannot recreate them (tried couple times). Now I am deleting the files and re upload them with another name.

It's not a bug, it's a feature. File names are checked for illegal characters and renamed if anything is not within standard file naming. Capitals are not standard.
