Public Usergroup Permissions

Hello,

I'm having issues with permissions for Public Usergroups. I am a member of three public groups in addition to my Primary Group of Administrators.

The gallery appears to be using the lowest common denominator - if any of my groups are denied access then it denies the user rather than allow the rights of my Primary Group (Administrators) to overrule the public groups.

If I leave the public usergroups then I can upload images without having to moderate them.

Would a workaround be to grant the public groups full rights on the gallery so as to make their effect on any user negligable? Or would this create potential security holes whereby any user could join one of these groups and then have full access to the gallery.

Hope this makes sense.

Moses.

Re: Public Usergroup Permissions

Is the permission problem only with the moderation of images/posts? There is a known bug that will cause images/posts to be moderated if any of the user's groups have moderation turned on, but this shouldn't affect any other options.

No worries then, it's just with moderation of images. I wasn't sure if this was a bug or by design.

Aah ha

question answered ...

Would this mean that If a single User Group is set to Moderation of image post, that all the groups will be effected?

Re: Public Usergroup Permissions

If a user is a member of any group that requires moderation then their images will have to be moderated. This is fixed in RC3 though.
