Host images on a different server

I just purchased a new server which will be for all of my images. It is running thttpd. I'm curious if vbagallery supports hosting the images on another server?

Re: Host images on a different server

It may be possible through some hacking (and even easier with RC3 as all of the image paths and such are moved to one function), but I'm not sure how much work it would require.

Re: Host images on a different server

I'm looking at this aswell with a cheap image hosting server / test server where I can ramp up the allowances....problem is how do we do it

I am thinking of a subdomain pointer to the new server...which has the main server listed as a mysql host...problem would be pathing issues to vb files...then again copying the required files over would possible sort that...

Any ideas welcome, and of course we'll publish anything we find for a sanity check more than anything.

Re: Host images on a different server

Well my shared host that I was using to test stuff on has just culled my disk space so I can't do anything now...time to order that 2nd box.

Having read a few things on vb about larger goals, eg db and httpd server I think this is feasible. The illustration above of a few core files on the second machine and a bit of path editing looks like my first approach.
