Gif Thumbnails NOT as default image?

I've searched and I can't seem to find the answer to my question.

I've installed the Gallery and everything is working fine. The only problem I have is the default image is shown as a thumbnail for bmp and gif files. Jpg files are fine.

I'm using GD. Is there a setting that I need to change? Is the resize of the bmp or gif file just not possible for some reason? Of, is that not a current supported function of this version of the Gallery?

If you want to be able to resize gif and bmp images you need to use ImageMagick as your resize program instead.
