Path and URL of Gallery Folder

Can the Gallery folder sit in a different domain and path on the same server and still be seamless with vBulletin?

It would appear that all the path and URL variables would be OK with this. It would be extremely handy in that a separate backup of the data files would be a breeze. Am I nuts?

As long as it's on the same server then you shouldn't have any problems at all.

With different domains there might be/will be cookie problems.

I might be remembering incorrectly, but I was thinking that as long as you didn't have anything set for your 'Cookie Domain' option then it would work. If different domain names do cause a problem though I'm sure a subdomain would work.

AFAIK
Cookies set from domain1.tld cannot be read from domain2.tld and vice versa, no matter how "Cookie Domain" is set.
However, if you have sub1.domain.tld and sub2.domain.tld cookies can be read from both domains, if Cookie Domain is set to .domain.tld (the dot at the beginning is important!)
