index.php could there be an option to show in a clean way ratings and comments?
Maybe small Icons and numbers
Photopost is not only a gallery for photos it is for discussions of photos and the discussion part is not visible enough.
I feel this index.php is only for viewers who click and click, many users view photos based on comments and ratings only.
Now with the categories on the site like that is it possible to show users albums in the same way?

Thank you, Geiri. I'm in the process of separating out rating and comments, I've also removed the comments.php Post A Comment page to keep it all on the photo page (except for editing, which may also go inline). Once I get the basics all wrapped up, I'll then start integrating the discussions and ratings deeper into the index.php side.
I have not yet gone to rework albums or contest pieces yet, but will be working on how to better integrate those as well.

1) layout flexibility improved - takes a bit of hacking currently
2) must keep contests - i use them and will into the future -
3) mobile uploads - in a previous incarnation of my gallery i used this - wasn't that popular but uploading via iphone and android systems is far easier now and I think this would work given the way newer phones work - create an android and iphone app to do it and you'd be sooo far in front of the competition - image you create a base app for each system which could be generic to PP galleries or modified at our cost

I turned off the e-card function because for myself as a pro photographer, I don't want anyone using my photos in ecards where the recipient gets the idea they can now print the photo for the making of their own card.
We just purchased CDN for the vB side of our website, so if it also worked with PP, that would be great.
I would like to see the option to set categories where once photos are placed there by the admin, those photos can no longer be deleted or moved by the members, i.e. finalists and winners in contests.
For the past 8 months, I had to turn the delete option off globally which isn't sitting well for all members.
I was going to suggest Anja's idea as well to be able to search a members photo comments like we do when we click to show all forum posts.
As for the voting, we haven't been using it, but creating code in a vB forum post as a poll where members vote. But, to have voting on the PP side would be nice if there were options to prevent the count of the votes being seen by members until admin makes them visible at the end of the contest. Would also like the info available to admins only as to which members placed votes on each photo.
Might be nice if admins can set the amount of votes that can be placed in designated categories. Not sure if this is feasible program wise. So that we could have the members give their vote on what image they feel should be in the finals, but not allowed to vote on their own image If its possible to set it that members can't vote on their own image, then maybe have that as an option yes/no to vote on their image at the time the category voting is set.
The ability by the admin to place code on an image that could link and display small ribbons for the winners within the thumbnail views. Right now, I've been using a link in the descriptions of the winning photos to give them ribbons, which I want to continue doing as shown below, but.... POTQ POTM POTW'The Rains Come to Chobe' - buddy4344 - BytePhoto Galleries
If members were looking at their album of photos viewing the thumbs, its not easy for them or others viewing their gallery of thumbs to see which were the winners unless they viewed each image large. So if there was some way for us to create our own small ribbon graphics, would be helpful.
I'm sure I have other ideas that I can pass along as they come to mind.

What I've found is that there is allot of complexity in combining javascript libraries - jqery and prototype, for example, have taken allot of work for even some functionality to remain. Adding in more commercial javascript libraries is not likely to be effective across our wide customer base and supporting all those script becomes extremely cumbersome.

Michael, I just looked at your updated link above.
For us, if it was set that way with the user name etc on the right and we had no way to change it, it wouldn't work for us since we place ads and other info on our far right.
see link. Vilma - BytePhoto Galleries |

see link. Vilma - BytePhoto Galleries | You currently have the filmstrip on the right side, too; the filmstrip would move to below the photo and your right column could remain.
I would suggest smaller medium images if you are going to try and put that much stuff across.

oops, just saw this reply. I just thought of something else, what about the exif data? All photography related websites, the photographers need the exif data, it helps them learn and also for the person that critiques to know how to help them. The exif always displayed under the user info. If the user info is on the right, the exif data doesn't look like it will all fit?
I also place all the contest ribbons in description, you can see how I did it below, its just an image path. I have more than 3 years worth of ribbons since I took over the website and plan to go back as far as 2003 to do all the currently active members wins.
Sam won POTW, POTM, POTQ, and if he won Best of Category and overall photo of the year, he would have 2 more ribbons. http://www.bytephoto.com/photopost/0...and-child.html

Some more feature requests: Add CKeditor to PP comments Forum editor: upload to PP / insert PP image
Currently PP is a complete separate system from the forum which is a real handicap for user experience. It creates the necessity for forum admins to keep on the lookout for alternatives to PP. Simply because an integrated experience is needed.

Another feature request: Reputation & like function
I really believe that the lack of integration between photopost and forums is the biggest weakness it has.

Features that are rarely used and can do without:
1. Commision Junction
2. Ecards
3. Custom view - (thumbnails..etc)
4.
Features needs:
1. Automatic thumbnail generation for videos
2. Share button for social media sites such as FB, Twitter
3. API- Login and commenting / voting of photos via other social media / Google credentials etc.
4. Better search engine within PP

Hi, Kisii.
On the do without, #1 and #2 are going away.
On the needed, #1 is already there in current version, #2 is in demo, #3 possible, #4 looking at as well.

here is a better idea of what I think would work well with those of us that run contests.
I already place links in the description area with the Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
code so I can give the winning images ribbons.
See below Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
What I would also like to do is be able to use the same type link to a small graphic I create to be able to display ribbons while viewing in galleries.
something like this. right now placing the same link to a graphic doesn't work by placing the code within the title. The graphic below was just done by cut and paste to use as a demo.
Its not actual coding that made the little ribbons show up Code: Content visible to verified customers only.

I just thought of something relating to placing small graphics along side the titles.
If its not possible to place in the title, would it be easier to create a new field only seen by admins to edit and have access for us to place image links for our purposes?
