vBGallery / vB4 Preview

Thank you, everyone, for your patience during this development time. As some of you know, the transition to vB4 is no mere "upgrade", it's a nearly total rewrite of all the plug-ins and templates associated with the gallery.

I'd like to thank Luc for all his hard work and efforts on this - without his help, there is no way we'd be getting this close to a release.

This is a testing area for the vBGallery update for vB4. Please feel free to take a look, register, upload, etc (nothing pornographic, please).

Let me know if you find any problems.

Good job Michael and Luciano, on a first quick look it seems very sweet. Is there an eta to expect the beta? Thanks.
Edit: On further investigation I must admit it is really great and to be honest I'm surprised. B=0
I like the integration of the gallery menu into the navbar, the hints page on uploading and integration to user profile.
Some issues I stumbled over, footer say it's 2.5, Send as e-Card creates a heavy error, printable version and view slideshow gives an error, Subscribe to This Category gives a no permission, "Top 15 Replied to Images" listing images without reply, below the title text "Top 15 Replied to Images", "Top 15 Viewed Images" and "Top 15 Rated Images" is a smaller text saying: "POPimages description" and the top 15 viewed images isn't showing any image although there's 1 image rated by 5 stars .
But I'm sure you'll fix this soon.
Maybe it's possible to create some different custom fields on the demo site to check this out Michael? And again, really great stuff I can't wait to download it.
B.t.w as on the attached sreeenshot, is this a feature or bug?

looken groovy :)

Chuck S March 12th, 2010 04:27 PM

yeah its taken alot of work to get there

Michael P March 12th, 2010 07:23 PM

Send an ecard still has to be done, as does a bunch of the smaller stuff and a couple admin things. Let's hope a new update from vB doesnt come out and break half our stuff again :-)

Thanks for the hard work guys.

Get this error, when looking at a printable version:

thanks, that would also be one of the templates not yet updated.

If anyone wants to help us speed up finishing this off, drop me a PM (template and coding experience with vb4 a must).

Looks better than expected, will renew my suscription next week, thanks for the good work! :)

clearchannel March 13th, 2010 04:02 PM

This is the best news my upgrade to vB4.

I'll be upgrading my subscription for vBGallery as soon as this is released.

Excellent work from everybody involved.

DDIG March 15th, 2010 08:31 AM

Absolutely awesome. This really looks great :)

I can't wait to make the transition to vB4 / vBGallery

Thanks for all the hard work so far!

Demux March 15th, 2010 08:46 AM

It is possible to upgrade from an earlier version to not loose all pictures?

Chuck S March 15th, 2010 09:15 AM

Any upgrade of any product we put out you can upgrade from earlier versions and keep your photos etc. So when vbGallery 3.0 is released to the public sure you can upgrade.

The latest updates have been applied; we're going to enlist the help of our old friend Z to help with the installer (new install) and try to get this cleaned up for a BETA as soon as possible.
