Question Video

I searched the forums and found all the answers I needed to get video (MOV) file to upload to my photopost gallery (we do *not* have vbulletin).

The file has uploaded, it allowed me to add a thumbnail image in the upload options.

When you click on the thumbnail you get the image page, and where the image is usually displayed it has the name of the video, but there is no way to play the video.

How do we play the video within PhotoPost

You would need to provide a url to your site so we can assist and see your issue.

Interesting how big is this video?

Have you tried other video's

The video seems to exist. The html to show the embed player is in the source of your page.

HMM I wonder if there is a limitation on how big a mov file the embed player can play from quicktime.

Try testing other videos to see if they display and play.

Try also uploading a smaller mov file and see if that works. I have one here thats 3.93mb and it plays fine

Ok, I made the video smaller and changed it to a wmv file. It now works - in Internet Explorer only. I haven't been able to get it to work in FireFox

FYI - in case you want to check it

Thank you

One last question - when the video is uploaded, what directory does it go in?

it goes into the data directory

I see things in firefox the only thing I get is some password box you seem to have things locked all up and this may be some of your issue here.

Wierd - I have looked in the data directory, under the the directory that is assigned to my name (#2) and the file is not there. I can't find it. I thought I might be able to figure out the password problem with viewing it if I could find where the file is.

The file exists just fine

I am merely saying you have same weird password issues etc why not remove all your security stuff and do a default install none of that stuff and see if things work.

I have already shown that the video should work by my example. we look at whats different and we are left with yout password protection stuff.
