Latest thumbnails on homepage

I am finding that the latest thumbnails that appear on the homepage are different to the latest thumbnails that appear on the 'main' page. Maybe this is how it should be but neither set is complete, some appear on the main page but not on the home page and vice versa.

How can I make sure that all the latest uploads appear on the homepage?

what do you mean by this?

Photos appearing on any vb forum might not be latest images they may be random images as thats a photo block on the forum not the specific image block like on our gallery. Likewise our program does not have a HOMEPAGE photo block so whatever issue could come from whatever custom modification your using to show images elsewhere besides our gallery.

No I haven't made any mods, I'm talking about the homepage and the main page of the gallery. Have a look:

well what is the homepage and main page? I guess we need to know what your intrepretation is.

The main page of our gallery is this and I see nothing wrong with that page.

I call that one the home page. If you click on the link 'main' you get a similar page but different thumbs. Also you now have a breadcrumb trail that says home>main, so I guess you call the first page 'home' as well.

I understand that not all the recent thumbs would necessarily appear in 'main' because it is a category. However I would have thought that all the recent thumbs should appear on the 'home' or first page, and that is not always the case.

I would quite like to get rid of category 'main' altogether, but I'm worried that if I try I'll lose pictures.

Photo Gallery - Main

To get rid of main you need to edit all your other categories and assign them as a normal category not subcat. So under each category where it says parent category choose none none not main. Then once main is empty you can delete it under admin edit categories.

Nope repositioning category parents wont affect photos.
