Initial Configuration?

Hi all,
I'm Richard, brand new to the whole PhotoPost world, and I'm kinda needing someone to just point me in the right direction.

I have PhotoPost (5.5) installed, and i'm looking for some guidance on how to configure it, maybe set up a design template of some sort, etc.

The site is going to be a standalone gallery, not attached to any vBulletin forums or anything like that. I'm just looking to get it looking nice so i can start giving out the address

is there a tutorial somewhere? any help would be greatly appreciated!

thanks,
Richard

Your new to Photopost yet have a 1 yr old or older Photopost installed? Bit confused on that but our latest version is 5.62 which has been our for a good 6 months or more.

Not too sure exactly what your trying to ask. You can post links here and maybe explain in more detail what your trying to do. You can control the look of your standalone Photopost by going to admin and editing the header footer etc as well as edit styesheet to edit the stylesheet Photopost is using. Those things more than any other are going to change how things look.

that's pretty much what i was trying to get to...

this is my site now - http://www.troststudios.com/
and this is the general idea of what i'd like it to look like - http://www.sweetcars.com/ - (just picked the first link i could find)

so my version is old already?? i purchased the software back in Oct, so it's been a few months. i just finally got hosting and everything lined up though, that's why i'm just now installing everything and going through the initial config process.

Your running a standalone install

That site is running a vbulletin integrated gallery and their gallery is here

http://www.sweetcars.com/gallery/index.php

Thats the main difference I see besides your not using a header or footer. Also as I previously pointed out you can add those things in the Photopost admin.

alright, i am trying to upload a picture to use as my banner...

this is the message I'm receiving upon trying to upload my first picture to the site:

Error creating thumbnail! Error code: 127

Command:

"/usr/bin/X11/mogrify" +profile "*" -size 100x17 -quality 70 -geometry 100x17 '/home/trost/public_html/data/500/thumbs/my_banner_1.jpg'

any suggestions?

Yes you need to in your config settings place the proper server path to vbulletin or in global settings set your processor to gd2 and see if it works if mogrify is not located on the server

that worked. thanks!

new issue - i have figured out how to upload the pics and everything, but all i get is thumbnails...? before i approve them, i can click on the previews and the images come up in full size, but once they're "in", i can't really do anything with them...

alright, i know what the problem is, i just don't know where to fix it...

it's generating the url that reads http://www.troststudios.comdata/508/26.JPG

the problem with that is there's no '/' after the .com

anyone know where this is that i can alter it?

You can fix that in your global options in admin and hit save then go to storage options and hit revert and save twice to load the corrected path
