Server Load

Hi,

Just out of curiosity, I noticed that there are around 500 users (reg + non-reg) online on these forums.

Since I have never had a forum before, I would like to know what kind of load does this create on the server. If possible, the specifics of your server config would also help me analyze my future requirements in terms of hardware.

We host a couple forums on this server - the "other" site TechIMO.Com has some 600+ users online now and our load is under 2. Loads are not only relative to your number of users, but to the hardware you are running. More active sites will require "beefier" servers. I don't have our hardware specs handy.
