GD/ImageMagick: Which produces sharper IMG links

I'm currently using GD2 with image quality set at 80, thumb size - 150

When I IMG link thumbnails from our gallery to our (vB) forum they are fuzzy compared to inline thumbs that have been directly uploaded as attachments into the forum post. (quality setting at 75)

If I switch to ImageMagick will the images be sharper?

I would increase the image quality of thumbs but this will also increase medium and large images which I don't want to push too high.

BTW here's a thread: Scan database rebuild image improvements suggesting to give each image size independent quality setting.

You would want to do testing yourself to determine this. I would say Imagemagick is better. There should be no image loss though linking a picture to the vb forums. Is so maybe you have an issue with your vbulletin. An html image tag will simply or bbcode taq will simple show an image just like the photopost program is showing that image. They should show the same image
