What happens if...?

I have All members category so that when a registered member puts a picture in one of the other categorys like bikes or photography for example, these pics also go into all members category.

If I go into Edit Categories and uncheck so Registered members can not upload to All members category will their pictures still go into all members category so admin and moderator can see if I force them to use other categorys.

Thanks if anyone can tell me what to exspect.

As long as the members gallery is viewable and you have it set that it contains all a users photos in the admin settings yes this will work fine.

That will keep register users from uploading to members category. Their thumbs will not show in photo_feature on forum page if they choose all members to upload to.
