User images are scrambled! How to edit?

I recently imported our images from a 4images gallery. The images and comments transferred fine, BUT the users that the images are attributed to are wrong. Is there a way to redo the install so that they go to the correct person? Barring that, can anyone tell me how to edit an individual user on the gallery control panel so I can at least change some user names to try to match things up again??? Thanks for your help.

The images should not be scrambled unless maybe there is a process here that is outside the normal import

The 4images import imports 4images into a standalone photopost.

Do you have Photopost integrated with a forum? There has to be some reason why this is off and I can not suggest a course of action without more info here.
