Linking vbulletin profile to a Member's Gallery

Has anyone figured out a way to create a direct link from a Member's Gallery page to their vBulletin profile or, better yet, to create a private message?

I have seen this done at one site -- photoforums.com -- but they are not using vBulletin.

Just place a link in the profile.tmpl where you wish in the normal vb3 format like this

http://www.photopost.com/members/forum/member.php?u={$User['userid']}

thanks.

It didn't work out just as you wrote it -- that linked to the photopost profile.

But once you pointed me to the right template, I was able to come up with the syntax.

I dont know how you get to a photopost profile from what I posted. That links to the VB user's profile

Notice for {$User['userid']} I have replaced my userid. Where does that take you here?

I didn't mean a photopost forum as in "this" place.

I meant on my own site. When I used that link it would send the link over to the Photopost gallery for the member. What I was trying to do was send the link from the picture to the vBulletin Member Profile at my own site.

This is what I'm referring to.

On this pictrue the link from the name of the poster now links to their Forum profile.

That's what I was trying to accomplish.

On to the next challenge: is there a guide to the templates anywhere? I would like to fine-tune some of the words that appear in menus. It seems to be part of a Global language template but I haven't found it yet. For example, instead of displaying "home" on the Photopost page navbar, I'd like to change "home" to "gallery home" -- any tips on how I find the right template?

To change the words you would look in the languages/english directory - the files are named to match the scripts.

I think you are using an outdated file (forums/vb3.php, showphoto.php or showphoto.tmpl), as the link should be going to the member profile:

I want it to go to the vBulletin Member profile, not the Photopost Member profile.

That's the change I was trying to make.

But I see something on your Profiles that I like -- how do you add the EXIF information? I see the control panel setting to extract this info but I don't think this would do it.

Did you customize the upload forms to get all of those EXIF fields?

EXIF is extracted using the JHEAD command option available in PhotoPost. JHEAD extracts the info and it is stored automatically when you have "extract exif information" set to yes and jhead configured in the config-inc.php

Modifying the code to bypass the PhotoPost profile falls outside the scope of support here - pelase try http://www.photopostdev.com to discuss nonsupported code changes.

Hi Tkitt,

I also use vBulletin and was interested in the same thing. Could you list the code you used?

Thanks!
