missing optional fields of 4.7j in 4.8c
 

Hi

I use for some sites 4.7j and on some 4.8c

I realized that in admin menu, the optional fields which were available in version 4.7j disappeared as an option to choose in admin menu of 4.8c (fresh installation, no upgrade).

They are in 4.7j in:

-> administration/edit options/Field Display and Optional Fields

Did I miss it? How to get these optional fields back in 4.8c?

In version 4.8 the optional fields moved to be category specific giving you a lot more choices on optional fields. To edit you need to edit the category that you want optional fields for.

if in my case these optional fields are always the same and not depending on a category, how can I set them once instead of copy/ paste it in many different categories?

Edit the Parent category and then check the "Check box to apply these settings and permissions to all children" box if you want all children categories to match. You will still need to do this on each of the parent categories.
