They have always enjoyed free access to post ads in the forums we have had setup for the purpose. We wish to continue that right in our Photopost Classifieds ... but in certain categories only. So, for example, in our member to member category which is limited to non-commercial items, we have successfully setup where regular members are charged a fee and both premium and merchant members are free. But in a new category for commercial products, we want to charge regular and premium members and only give free ads to merchants.

This doesn't appear to be doable. Another case of global permissions without any way to customize at the category level? I do not want to remove the ability for a premium member to post an ad in the commercial category and I don't want to take away the free member to member privileges. But I do want to be paid if a premium member want to sell a commercial item.

If "Require Approval" is set to No in Usergroup Admin and "Allow Comments" and "Upload Ads" are set to Yes, then the usergroup can also post feedback on the advertiser.

And if "Require Approval" is set to Yes in Usergroup Admin and "Allow Comments" and "Upload Ads" are set to Yes, then all those actions and feedback will go into a moderation queue.

There is no way to allow ads to be uploaded and comments posted without going into the moderation queue and still have feedback go into the queue. Further, there is no way to simply turn off Feedback separately.

Here's the issue:

1. If I turn on moderation then I will end up delaying display of anything that happens in classifieds. With it turned on, and in a preview to a few testers, everyone who posted a comment, posted it again because they didn't get the expected action. My forum is busy. If I turn on moderation, then I might as well take up residence all day and all night at my keyboard.

2. If I turn it off and simply moderate as I do my forums, I have no problem except that anyone can post false and damaging feedback and I have no ability to edit or delete it that I can find except to delete the feedback entry of any that were judged to be malicious from the MySql database. I can edit any comments or delete them and I can edit any ads or delete them. Yet there is no provision for treating Feedback as a separate entity or to edit out false ratings if necessary.

Am I missing something? What I'm finding, in trying to setup PP Classifieds, is some strange behavior with things like ads or comments not going into the approval queue when approval is required and payment for ads not being requested for groups where payment is required.

In experimenting with a dummy member, it appears that if any usergroup the member is in has No for its payment or approval, then the Yes setting is ignored. Am I correct in understanding the logic of these settings.

For example, User "John" is a registered member and is also a member of the Western Region user group. The Registered Member settings are Yes for both approval and payment being required while the Western Region is set to No. When User "John" places an ad it is posted without any request for payment or being put into the approval queue.

If this is the logic, then it would seem that any user group setting that is No would override any other user group settings to Yes for the same permission. Yet, all the settings for Western Region are set to No and the Registered member can still upload an ad and do everything else the permissions are set to except he ends up bypassing approval or payment.

I am in a total state of confusion. Back on 11.02.09 I purchased PP Classifieds and downloaded the file which plainly says 3.2.1 on the zip file name. I was told to continue and it went through and changed the version number on the index page to 3.2.1

I look today 11.10.09 (8 days later) in the members area and I see 3.2.1 released 11.09.09 8:22am which looks to be a unsupported beta. What the hell do I have installed, 3.13 or 3.21? I am totally confused on what I downloaded 8 days ago and what was just released yesterday in what looks to be a beta. I mean everything seems to be working okay considering I don't have any previous versions to compare it to. Do I need to download and update my version to what was released yesterday and if so do I need to do a complete install or replace certain files? Is 3.21 suppose to be a beta that will work with vB 4 software? Like I say I am confused and vB is talking on their forums today that they are releasing vB 4 forums around 11.15.09 and the vB 4 suite about a week later. The suite is what I have prepaid for.
